50s Lefcourt cordovan wing tip by Alden

かなりうんちくだが、Lefcourtという、アメリカ・ニューヨーク州マーハッタンにある、伝説的家族経営の紳士靴店がある事をご存じだろうか？この、レフコートはアメリカの輸入靴の草分け的存在で、1950年代McCreedy & Schreiber以外では、グレンソンやPeal & Co.チャーチ・クロケットアンドジョーンズなどほとんどの英国靴を取り扱っていた。その当時アメリカにおいて、英国靴のアンテナショップとして中心的存在であった事は間違いない。
　また、ご存知の通り1948年ハリウッドスターポールルーカスがビバリーヒルズの名店モリス・マーハッタンのレフコートにお気に入りのタッセル付きオックスフォードシューズを依頼し、偶然・両店ともオールデンに製作依頼し、完成されたのがタッセルローファーだ。
今回のペアだが、100%の確証ないがおそらく、1950年代後期から1960年代のレフコート依頼による、オールデン特注内羽根コードバンシューズではないかと考えている。前述したポールルーカスの件もそうだが、最近 Ebayにてレフコート別注のダイヤモンドパイソンのタッセルローファーが出品されていたが、この時のディテールや特徴が全くオールデンと違っていた。かろうじて、ロゴがあったため、判別ができた。おそらくは1990年代のものだろう。他にも福岡ビンテージショップ・タイドマークさんでも80年か90年代くらいの975のダブルネームのペアをみかけたことがある。今回のペアもオールデンではないかと考える根拠を幾つか書き出していった。
根拠1
シンプルにライニング表記がオールデンの表記と同じである。
根拠2
レフコートの別注品は英国製が多く、ソークシートかアウトソールには必ずmade in England と表記されている。今回のペアには記載がなかった。他のオールデン別注品と同様のソックシートが使用されている。
根拠3
オールデンとの関係も古く、特注案件にも対応できる関係性が構築されている。ダイヤモンドパイソンのペアもそうだが、ポールルーカスの件も同様に完全特注品にも対応していた可能性が高い。
今回のペアはミッドセンチュリー黄金期を彷彿とさせる、ラギットで装飾性に飛んだ、ペアとなっている。
